After having strep throat and being out of my normal routine for some time, I'm finally back to feeling myself and trying to get into the swing of things. Normal wouldn't have been a good choice of word because frankly, my life isn't ever just plain normal. It's more-so hectic if anything else but honestly, I'm thankful for that. Hectic doesn't necessarily have to be a negative thing, it can be a positive. For me, it is positive. It means that my schedule is filled with things to do with time to just relax as well. It means that I'm spending time with those who mean the most to me and that alone makes for a wonderful life.
Okay, I know.. you're wondering why the title of this post is contest if I'm just rambling about my life being everything but normal. So, I'll get right to it. A dear friend of mine has been going on and on about a shot I captured and just hasn't let up about it. She and I were having a conversation on the phone when she (very convincingly) suggested that I submit the photo to contests. When I say convincingly well, it was just that. Her confidence in my photograph and the rarity of the shot convinced me to submit it in a photo contest. After hours of researching, comparing and reading tons of long contest jargon, my photo has been submitted to a photo contest.
I must say, once I was all finished with the process, I got very excited about it. I chose a smaller contest for my first entry and plan on making photo contests something I stay on top of. After all, what can it hurt? Everyone enjoys a little competition every now and then, right? For me though, it's all in fun. If I win, that would be wonderful but if I don't, I'm not going to get upset over it. Just means, I keep going and submit to others. I would love for you to help out and vote for my photo. You can do so by clicking this link: http://www.photoswinprizes.com/2012/05/11/caught/ and clicking on the little heart above the photo, it's that easy! If you do go out and vote, I thank you. Feel free to share it on your Facebook and Twitter, too!
It's off to a good start for the first day being available to vote but there are still a lot of votes needed to get up there with the best of 'em. Oh! and yes, I do realize that there is a typo in the description. I've submitted a correction but so far, it doesn't seem to have changed. Learned my first valuable lesson in photo contests.. always proof read!
Again, thank you for your votes and I look forward to posting again soon!
